The next meeting of the InfraGard Knoxville Members Alliance will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015, starting at 11:30 am in the auditorium of King University. It is our privilege to have Stephen Shedden, Math teacher at Bearden Middle School in Knoxville, TN, and Honorable Mention recipient for the 2014 9/11 Tribute Center Teacher Awards.

According to the 9/11 Tribute Center Facebook page, as the anniversary of 9/11 nears, many schools are beginning to plan for school wide assemblies. As a retired NYPD Lieutenant with over 20 years’ service, Mr. Shedden saw the need for a school wide collaborative project to recognize and remember the events of 9/11.

Students design and create a 1/64 scale model of the Twin Towers, which is used by teachers in their lessons. This year students were also encouraged to speak with their friends and family about their own personal experience on 9/11.

This program has become so popular that Mr. Shedden now travels the country lecturing to teachers and students about 9/11 to ensure we Never Forget. He is currently writing a book on the matter.

This meeting is open to the public.

King University's Knoxville campus is located at 10950 Spring Bluff Way – the Hardin Valley Road exit off TN-162, literally across the street from Pellissippi State Community College. Here's a Google Maps link to the campus location.
