FBI Active Shooter at InfraGard Knoxville

On Thursday, August 28, 2014, the FBI, in conjunction with the InfraGard Knoxville Members Alliance and the Association of Networking and System Administrators at Pellissippi State Community College will provide Active Shooter training based on the nationally-endorsed “Run, Hide, Fight” standard protocol designed to educate industry partners and citizens on what to do when faced with an active shooter in a mass killing situations. The speaker for informing attendees how to face this unique type of threat will be FBI Special Agent Scott Johnson, Training coordinator/Primary Firearms Instructor for the FBI – Knoxville Division.

The meeting will be held in the J.L. Goins Administration Building on the Hardin Valley campus of the Pellissippi State Community College. There will be a “meet and greet” time beginning at 5:30; the Active Shooter presentation will start at 6:00 PM. A map of the campus for the building location and parking is attached.

This meeting is open to the public. All guests are welcome.

The FBI is committed to working with its partners to protect schools, workplaces, houses of worship, transportation centers, other public gathering sites, and communities.  To that end, the FBI seeks to provide services to help detect and prevent acts of targeted violence, helping academic, mental health, business, community, law enforcement, and government entities recognize and disrupt potential active shooters who may be on a trajectory toward violence.
